Gyro Fishing

Gyro Fishing

Challenge: Traditional fishing can be limited by factors like weather, location, and accessibility. In South Korea, a popular sport like fishing can be hindered by these constraints.

Solution: Develop a virtual fishing experience that mimics real-world fishing using VR technology and IoT devices. This would allow users to enjoy the thrill of fishing anytime, anywhere.

Key features :

  • Realistic Rod Simulation: A custom-designed PCB with an Altium-designed schematic and Nordic low-energy wireless communication MCU transmits real-time data via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to the mobile application.

  • Sensor Integration: A gyroscope detects the user's rod movements, while a hall sensor tracks reel rotations, creating a virtual experience that mirrors real-world fishing actions.

  • Immersive VR Gameplay: The VR application translates the sensor data into virtual rod movements, allowing users to feel the fight of the fish and experience the thrill of the catch.
